Check out the 2019 Bike Routes (Sprint and Olympic)
We have finally decided on the 2019 bike routes and you can check out the maps in this post.
For those of you that have done the our sprint distance event before will be familiar with the course.
The Olympic course with take the same route as the Sprint course at the beginning but will continue to a turn around at Louisburgh to make up the Olympic distance.
It is a great biking course that usually has a Westerly head-wind on the way out and then you can put the boot down on the way home.
It is a relatively flat course with two notable drags along the coast, the views are spectacular passing Croagh Patrick and vista’s of Clew Bay.
The road surface is generally good, very few holes and few bumps.
The main hazard is traffic, so you need to race carefully, following the rules of the road and understand that their will probably be slow driving tourists, not knowing where they are going.
However our marshals will be out in force managing traffic and doing everything they can to ensure that you can focus on racing with no interruption.
